Volunteer with Us
We rely on volunteers to help us carry out the important work of conserving the Wyre forest its wildflower meadows and traditional orchards.
The Weekly volunteer program has work parties on a Wednesday and Thursday in partnership with Natural England and Worcestershire County Council.
Work changes with the seasons. In the summer tasks include moving our herd of Dexter cattle, the maintenance of the field infrastructure including gates, fencing and water troughs. We make our own hay, manage the orchards and carry out invasive species control.
Autumn months include picking and using the fruits of our orchards with the local community. Winter work involves the planting of fruit trees in new or existing orchards, coppicing, tree work and clearing scrub.
Many of our volunteers have been working with us for 5 years and enjoy the diverse range of activities. We welcome new people to join the team, whether you are looking to start a career in conservation, simply wish to meet new people, work outside, stay fit & active and make a difference to the environment in which you live.
Please get in touch to discuss work experience opportunities if you are interested in pursuing a career in conservation. If you have a skill you think we could use out in the fields or behind the scenes please get in touch.
