An important part of our work is to hunt out inspiring stories about how to make natural landscapes work better.

And, throughout the year, we run a busy programme and courses and events, which are open to all.

These range from skill-based courses like woodworking and gate-making, to more ecological themes like bird watching and flower identification.

monthly nature and craft workshops

Join our monthly craft and nature workshops in Ruskin Land. The workshops will be held in Ruskin Land in the heart of the Wyre Forest, and will be delivered by Wyre Community Land Trust’s expert team of conservationists and crafters!

In addition to the Ruskin Club workshops listed below, we are always happy to host private events and workshops, whether it be a corporate team away day, a crafts workshop for a small group of friends, or a bigger woodland experience day. Please contact for more details. 

  • Coppicing and Coppice Craft

Learn about coppice management and the coppice crafts and industries that have traditionally took place in the Wyre Forest, including charcoal making, bark peeling and beesom brooms.

Join us for our autumn woodland open morning, designed for the whole family. There will be Halloween-themed activities, suitable for children aged 5-12 years, including monster mud faces, storytelling, and witch’s broom making.

  • Orchard Management

During this hands-on introductory workshop, you will explore the traditional orchards of the Wyre Forest, and learn how to look after hard and soft fruits through the seasons for the benefit of good tree health and wildlife.

Join us for our final workshop of the year, and make your very own Christmas wreath, using foraged material from the Wyre Forest.
