Join our monthly craft and nature workshops in Ruskin Land. The workshops will be held in Ruskin Land in the heart of the Wyre Forest, and will be delivered by Wyre Community Land Trust’s expert team of conservationists and crafters!

Pigment to Paint
Saturday 23rd March 2024 EITHER 10am to 1pm OR 2pm to 5pm
Make your own watercolour paint using a selection of natural pigments. Explore the medium, make studies of the surroundings or create watercolour artwork of your choosing.
WILDLIFE TRACKING
Saturday 20th April 2024 at 10.00 to 13.00
Join Tracker Al as he demonstrates the art of wildife tracking! We will delve into the world of wildlife tracking, examining tracks and signs of species such as fallow deer, badger and fox. You will gain skills to help you identify and examine animal tracks and signs not only in the Wyre Forest but any woodland habitat in the UK.
RUSTIC FRAME BASKET
Saturday 18th May 2024 – 10am to 3pm
During the course, you’ll be introduced to the basic tools and techniques of willow weaving. You’ll learn how to make and connect a pair of wreaths to act as the basket frame, and then add ribs to weave around. No previous experience in willow weaving is needed – frame baskets are a great project for beginners, as once you get started you can really get into the flow of the weave. The group size is limited to 8 people to ensure everyone can get plenty of support.
CHARCOAL-MAKING WEEKEND
Saturday 1st AND Sunday 2nd June 2024
Spend a weekend in the beautiful Wyre Forest making charcoal using different methods including a traditional earth clamp as it would have been during the hey-day of the local charcoal industry in Wyre.
INTRODUCTION TO
WOOD CARVING
Saturday 6th July 2024 9:30am to 12.30pm
Learn the art of wood carving using traditional tools and techniques and carve your own leaf design into a piece of Wyre Forest oak.
Christmas reindeer-making
Saturday 23rd November 2024 10am to 12.00pm
Make your own reindeer from Wyre wood to take home and look after over the festive period!
